Moad Idrissi

Dr Moad Idrissi is a Lecturer in Smart Computer Systems in the School of Computing and Digital Technology at Birmingham City University. He holds a 1st class BEng in Electronic Engineering, an MSc in Embedded Systems from The University of Birmingham, and holds a PhD in the domain of Aerial Robotics.

With over 6 years of teaching and research experience, Dr Idrissi is currently an interdisciplinary researcher in robotics with a broader interest in automation through robot-environment interaction and perception sensing. Upon his PhD completion, Dr Idrissi worked as a Research Associate in the field of Smart Computing and Robotics for the multi-million-pound 5G Connected Forest funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, which resulted in wide media coverage and international recognition. He has also contributed to multiple research bids and secured funding for various research themes, including Environmental Monitoring, the Internet of Things, and the integration of Smart Sensing technologies. Through this, Dr Idrissi has a record of publishing peer-reviewed articles in top-tier journals and conferences. His research work received multiple best paper award in 2020, 2021 and 2022 in recognition of the contributions by the IEEE committee.
