Centre for Brexit Studies Senior Fellow Dr Steven McCabe has shared his thoughts and views on the latest in the Brexit process and trade negotiations.
With the EU signalling possible compromises in ‘level playing field’ talks, Dr McCabe discussed if intense talks between the UK and the EU will help at this stage in the process in a video shared today.
Britain’s trade secretary Liz Truss has insisted that no deal will be better than a bad deal, after manufacturers warned that a trade deal with the US could lower standards. The expert discussed what the positives, and the negatives, could be of a trade deal with the US.
The expert also discussed if the Government will support UK councils, after a number of councils stated that they may have to declare themselves bankrupt unless the government agrees to emergency spending controls due to the impact of Covid-19.
