Experts joined forces at the Centre for Brexit Studies Book Launch event last week to share their knowledge, thoughts and views around what happens next in the Brexit process for the people of Northern Ireland.

The event celebrated the launch of new book ‘Brexit and Northern Ireland: Bordering on Confusion?’, which brings together a wide range of contributors. A panel discussed everything from Northern Ireland’s economy, infrastructure and jobs to the Irish border issue and the Good Friday Agreement.

The book was launched first in London earlier in October, and a week after in Belfast. Both events offered a variety of voices from expert panels, including Dr Graham Gudgin and Peter Oborne at the London launch, and Dr Leslie Budd and Dr Katy Hayward at the Belfast launch.

The Belfast launch, which took place at The Open University in the city centre, is now available to watch on the Centre for Brexit Studies YouTube channel.

The expert panel was hosted by Broadcaster and Novelist Roisin McAuley, and the panellists for the event included Dr Katy Hayward, Reader in Sociology at Queen’s University Belfast and a Senior Fellow at UK in a Changing Europe and Dr Leslie Budd, Reader in Social Enterprise in the Department of Public Leadership and Social Enterprise at the Open University Business School and Visiting Professor at the Centre for Brexit Studies.

The panel also included Neil Johnston, Chairman of the Conservative Party in Northern Ireland, Aodhan Connolly, Director of the Northern Ireland Retail Consortium and Brian Feeney, Historian, Author and Journalist.
