As of August 2022, Sam will be returning to Birmingham Women’s Hospital as the Band 7 Birth Centre Manager however, he will continue working with the Midwifery Department as a Visiting Lecturer.

Sam is passionate about midwifery, the role of midwifery support workers and women being able to birth how they choose. His interests include intrapartum care in all birth settings, however he is particularly passionate about birth in midwifery-led settings. Sam has authored and co-authored guidelines for the use of complementary therapies within maternity at a local Trust (including aromatherapy, post-dates complementary therapy treatments, reflexology, hypnobirthing and moxibustion).
