Francesca Male

Fran is a Lecturer within the Department of Children and Young People’s health, which she joined in February 2024.

She graduated as a Children’s Nurse after completing the DipHE Child Nursing at De Montfort University in Leicester in 2009. Her career began working on the Neonatal Unit at Birmingham Women’s Hospital where she progressed from caring for babies in special care, to completing a High Dependency & Intensive care course at BCU in 2011.

She joined the NICU education team alongside working clinically in 2019 as a Clinical Support Facilitator, within this role she supported students whilst they were on placement. The role also involved supporting staff clinically and teaching on various courses including the Introduction to Neonates course. In June 2022 she completed her Professional Nurse Advocate course at Keele University.
