Liz graduated from the University of Central England in 2006. Since graduating she has undertaken a rotation in accident and emergency, surgical, medical and acute admission wards.

Liz has experience working in critical care for the past 15 years. During this time, she worked with the specialities of cardiac, trauma and burns.

Liz most recently worked as a Clinical Educator within the Critical Care unit at University Hospitals Birmingham. Within this role she taught, assessed and supported new starters within their development and managed their educational needs.

Liz is a Professional Nurse Advocate. The Professional Nurse Advocate course was launched through NHS England to support nurses as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Liz has increased her knowledge on how to maintain the wellbeing of staff and students.

Liz joined Birmingham City University in January 2022 and teaches on the third-year undergraduate course.
