Karen trained as a Jewellery Designer/ Maker and has a post-graduate Master of Arts degree in jewellery & related products.

Karen has over twenty years of experience working within arts education and works as part of the Technical Team at The School of Jewellery. The scope of her duties includes: Operating the School of Jewellery electroplating laboratory, which entails providing an electroplating & electroforming service to students & external clients; delivering technical workshop demonstrations within the field of jewellery and associated techniques & processes; supporting staff & students as per their course requirements, with a focus on support for postgraduate jewellery students; contributing to the maintenance of workshop tools & equipment; managing materials stock, sale of materials & tools loan to students through the SOJ stores; assisting with student projects/ exhibitions.

In tandem with her technical role, Karen is a practitioner and has exhibited and sold her work through international group exhibitions & Contemporary jewellery galleries.
