Richard qualified as a speech and language therapist from Newcastle University. He has worked with teenagers and adults with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health difficulties in several psychiatric settings. Most recently he worked on an acute rehabilitation trauma unit with patients with acquired neurological conditions (e.g. spinal cord injuries, stroke, TBI).

He has a post-graduate qualification in dysphagia. He has also worked as a guest lecturer on Coventry University’s Allied Health Professionals Return to Clinical Practice course.
