David qualified in Social Work in 2007, he began working with adults with Intellectual Disabilities and Mental illness within Birmingham.
As a Social Worker within Birmingham David worked within Safeguarding, the Court of Protection and was awarded for partnership working within the Local Authority.
Most recently he was employed as a Senior social Work Practitioner Workforce with Birmingham City Council.
This role focused on supervision, mentoring and development for Social Work and Social Care staff within hospital settings.
David is a Practice Educator and has previously supported final year students on placement and mentored qualifying Practice Educators.
In August 2014 David joined the University, supporting teaching across the programme and developing post qualifying training. David’s current focus is the Skills and readiness for Practice module developing and enhancing skills for practice.
