Look after your mind and body, they’re pretty important. We want you to have a positive University experience so we have a few tips to help you be happy, stay healthy and have fun!

The ‘student lifestyle’ stereotypically isn’t the healthiest; a mixture of alcohol, takeaways and Netflix obviously isn’t ideal for your body. Being away from home and having lots of freedom can lead you to develop bad habits, which is normal. However, it’s important to take care of yourself. We’re not saying don’t ever have a takeaway, and you certainly don’t need to spend a big chunk of your student loan on an expensive gym membership. You can live a healthy lifestyle and still enjoy yourself!

Doing workouts at home every so often is a great way to feel better about yourself. There are some great YouTube channels with hundreds of exercise videos that are completely free. The BCUSU BCU Active programme is also a great way to get involved with sports teams and stay active throughout your time at University

Eat Well

Eat well

Be conscious of your diet and think about the nutrition your food is giving you. Eating a healthy diet will help you feel better, cope with stress and will be a great foundation for excelling in your studies. It’s handy to have a couple of recipe books to give you inspiration and ideas when you’re tempted by takeaway!
