Is it possible to write, record and sell an entire CD in just one day?
Incredibly, that's exactly what a team of our students did. In four teams – songwriters, marketing, PR and fundraisers – they wrote and recorded four songs in MP3 format to upload and sell on iTunes, and got the backing and publicity to make it a success.
It was a remarkable chance to experience a real world business problem while making money for deaf blind charity Sense – and a novel way to test and evaluate their skills and learn how they respond under pressure.
It's an experience they can showcase to potential employers, too: a video diary was produced of the project demonstrates their individual contribution to the projects.
And, Vanessa Clarke, Director of Undergraduate Leadership Development Programmes, described it as "quite simply, an amazing day: an emotional rollercoaster and an experience no one will forget."
