Dr Rebecca Semmens-Wheeler

Rebecca completed her PhD in 2012 at the University of Sussex, on “The Contrasting Role of Higher Order Awareness in Hypnosis and Meditation". She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Bedfordshire and the University of West Florida, and worked as a research assistant in cognitive neuroscience at Rice University, Texas. This led her to pursue a master’s degree in Cognitive Neuropsychology at the University of Hertfordshire.
Rebecca has experience of designing and delivering learning in a variety of learning environments, with combinations of face-to-face and distance learning. She is passionate about enhancing pedagogy and creating engaging and effective assessments for learners and educators, as well as contributing new research to the field and supporting students in doing so.
She is currently working on research projects in creativity and meditation, and on attitudes towards Brexit.
