Study Abroad

Meeting new people, discovering different cultures and gaining new skills are just some of the amazing benefits of studying abroad.

Study Abroad

At BCU, we offer lots of different ways to study abroad, whether it’s with one of our partner universities, through the Erasmus scheme or on a summer programme.

Not sure whether it’s for you? Take a look at our top five benefits below, or find out more about the different programmes available.

1. Become more employable

It’s one of the main reasons we’re here, right? Simply put, studying abroad looks great on your CV. It shows you’ve experienced different cultures, worked with a range of different people, developed language skills and that you’re looking to try new things. All big ticks when it comes to employers! More and more employers are now actively looking for students with international experience.

2. A different style of learning

Embedding yourself in the culture and language means you’ll learn in a different way. You can still opt for lectures and seminars, but there’s also loads of other ways to use your time abroad to learn new things, plus it shows you are open-minded, independent and can adapt to new surroundings.

3. Experience the world

It’s pretty obvious, but studying abroad gives you the opportunity to travel and see the world! Embed yourself in a country, its food, customs and traditions, plus you’ll also have the chance to travel through other parts of the world while you’re away. Not sure where to start? 4. Make new friends

One of the best things about studying abroad is all of the friends you will make while you’re there! It may also open you up to people and cultures you might not have met otherwise. Going through this experience together creates a unique bond, plus you’ll have friends across the world that you can visit in the future.

5. Learn a language

What better way to learn a new language than to immerse yourself in a new culture. You’ll be exposed to the language on a daily basis as well as having the chance to learn it in an educational or professional setting. ¡Qué bien!
