Applying

We strongly encourage you to find out as much as you can about the course you are interested in, the University and the support you may need, prior to applying for a place at the University. It is important that you understand all the requirements of your course so that if there is anything you think you may need support with, we can look at this as soon as possible.

If you are offered a place through Clearing, please ensure you respond promptly to emails from the Disability Support Team.

Visiting the University

We are happy to arrange for you to meet with a Disability Adviser at the University before you make a formal application. In certain circumstances, we can arrange a joint visit with your academic department if required.

Open Days and Clearing

If you're planning to attend one of our Open Days please be aware that the Disability Support Team will be available at the event (whether virtual, or on campus), and you're welcome to contact us beforehand to make an appointment with a Disability Adviser.

If you have specific requirements for the visit please contact the school and the Disability Support Team beforehand, giving as much notice as possible.

If you're offered a place at Birmingham City University as a result of going through Clearing, the Disability Support Team will contact you soon after your offer is made to discuss your support requirements. Please respond as quickly as possible.

Applying to the University

When you complete your UCAS form or an application form for Birmingham City University you'll be asked if you have a disability. You're not obliged to answer this question, but doing so makes the Disability Support Team at the University aware that you have a disability or specific learning difficulty and enables them to give you information about the support that may be available.

The decision about whether to offer you a place at Birmingham City University will be made on academic grounds only and you will be notified about this decision through the usual channels. Your disability will not affect this decision.
