Leon Moosavi
Lecturer in Sociology
Dr Leon Moosavi is Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Liverpool. His research interests include Islamophobia, conversion to Islam and Muslim communities in Britain.
Leon completed his PhD in the Sociology Department of Lancaster University in 2011. His thesis was entitled: Islamophobia, Belonging and ‘Race’ in the Experiences of Muslim Converts in Britain.
He has been invited to present his research in several countries, has featured in mainstream media debates on numerous occasions and has been consulted by the police and government on community cohesion and counter terrorism issues.
