Dr Emma Tecwyn

Emma Tecwyn 100x150 18.01.2019

Lecturer in Psychology

School of Social Sciences
+44 (0)121 331 5235

After studying and researching Animal Behavior, Emma became curious about animal minds, and subsequently human minds, which led to her move into Psychology.

Between completing her PhD in 2014 and joining BCU in 2019, Emma was a postdoctoral researcher investigating cognitive processes in children and animals at the universities of St Andrews, Toronto and Cardiff. She continues to conduct research to understand the evolution and development of cognitive abilities, particularly in the areas of causal and social cognition.

Emma is a passionate teacher and given her interest in cognition she particularly enjoys engaging students with active learning techniques to develop their reasoning and problem solving skills.
