Stephanie is Interim Quality Enhancement Lead and an Associate Professor. She was previously the course leader for two of our provisions within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, MSc Nursing and MSci Nursing.

Stephanie graduated from Birmingham City University with a BSc (hons) degree in Children’s Nursing in 2012. Post qualifying Stephanie went to work on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Birmingham Children’s Hospital as a staff nurse between 2012 and 2015. During this time Stephanie completed both her PICU Foundation Course and her PICU Specialist Course.  Stephanie when working in PICU was also a team leader, clinical skills facilitator in addition to other specialist clinical skills such as hemofiltration.

In June 2015 Stephanie joined the Diabetes Home Care team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and worked within the team as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse and undertook her post graduate certificate in the Management of Childhood Diabetes. In this role Stephanie worked both within the community and hospital setting. Further to this Stephanie was lead nurse for a rare diabetes service known as Bardet Biedl Syndrome which affects only 1 in 12,000 patients.

Stephanie joined BCU in the Department for Children and Young People’s Health in May 2017 as an Assistant Lecturer. She is aligned to Nursing in Practice 3 module and Theory into Practice, a programme delivered out at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Stephanie also supports other modules within the children’s nursing programme and supports sessions across all three years. Stephanie also supports other health programmes within the faculty.
