Child Nursing Placements

childrens nursing - placements BSc (Hons) Nursing - Child Placements

Practical experience is central to the majority of our courses as it's vitally important that you apply theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to patients in a practice-based setting.

To fulfil the Nursing and Midwifery Council requirements, there is an equal split of learning ours between placement and academic learning time.

This means you will need to attend attending placements in a variety of settings across the West Midlands, where babies, children and young people are cared for.

While on placement you will be expected to adopt the working hours of your department. This could involve working, weekends, nights and bank holidays.

Placement Support

Whilst on placement you will be supported by our practice partners as well as academic staff, who will facilitate your learning and development. This will help you make connections between theory and practice and provide you with opportunities to achieve your goals.

Our specialist Child Field Placement Support Team will also be on hand to offer guidance and support in the practice placement setting. This team of lecturers visit placement areas on a regular basis to ensure that all students are able to benefit from positive and inspiring placement learning experiences.
