Katy is a new member of staff as a Lecturer within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Having begun her career as a Healthcare Assistant, Katy undertook her nursing studies at King’s College London and qualified as a Registered Nurse.

With a background in Oncology and Haematology, Katy has worked primarily within inpatient ward environments, with a keen interest on improving nursing education within the hospital setting. Katy has a keen interest in improving clinical experience for student and newly qualified nurses alike, something she invested her time in as a Ward Sister.

Katy is trained in Chemotherapy administration and undertook further study of postgraduate modules in Professional Practice. Alongside this, Katy has a specific interest in nurse-led oncology care services and this is her current area of research.
