Urban Folk Quartet:
Joe Broughton
Tom Chapman
Paloma Trigás
Dan Walsh
The Urban Folk Quartet was founded in 2009 by fiddler Joe Broughton, who is Lecturer in Folk Music at RBC and Director of The Conservatoire Folk Ensemble.
It also features renowned violinist Paloma Trigás and innovative percussionist Tom Chapman, both Conservatoire alumni, who first met Joe through The Folk Ensemble. The line-up is completed by award-winning banjo player, guitarist and singer Dan Walsh. Over the past decade UFQ have released six critically-acclaimed albums and ignited audiences at festivals and concerts across the world, with their high-energy, genre-defying acoustic music.
‘There’s a palpable electricity to a UFQ gig that surges through the band and into the crowd. One of the tightest line-ups I have ever seen.’ Songlines
