Bach Concerto for Four Harpsichords in A minor, BWV 1065 after Vivaldi Op.3, No.10
Vivaldi Cello Concerto in D major
Bach Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV 1041
Vivaldi arr. Bambrough, Bigwood, Devine, Perkins Concerto for Four Violins, Op.3, No.1 in the style of Bach

Bach’s extravagant reworking for harpsichords of Vivaldi’s concerto for four violins is a spectacle rarely seen on the concert platform. Taking advantage of four harpsichords in the same room at the same time, the Musical & Amicable Society raise the question ‘what if Bach had arranged another of Vivaldi’s concertos, for four harpsichords?’ Not content with giving just one answer, each soloist in this evening’s performance will give their own interpretation of Vivaldi-arranged-Bach. This world-first performance is preceded by some much-loved solo instrumental concertos by Bach and Vivaldi.
