Date: 26 May and 27 May
Innovation Fest runs across two weeks, offering businesses the opportunity to experience the creative talent emerging from BCU’s Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment. On May 26, businesses are invited to attend a guided tour of the festival, meeting with student exhibitors and learning more about the industry projects featured on the show floor. The final day on 27 May will see students being celebrated and awarded for their innovation and digi-tech expertise. LENNY HENRY CENTRE FOR MEDIA DIVERSITY 2nd ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

The Sir Lenny Henry Centre for Media Diversity is a research centre bringing together the expertise of established media professionals and academics. The Centre believes that accurate representation of all sections of society in all layers of the UK media is vital. Involved in the Centre are Sir Lenny Henry, Professor Diane Kemp (the Centre's Director), Marcus Ryder MBE and Marverine Duffy, all leading figures in the efforts to increase diversity and inclusion in the UK media industry. This event will mark a milestone birthday for the centre. This event is invitation only.
I AM BCU AWARDS

Delivered in partnership between the University and the Students’ Union, the awards recognise the outstanding achievements of staff and students across the BCU community. Staff and students can book your place for the event here.
INSPIRED FAMILY DAY
Date: 11 June
Venue: City Centre Campus
Communities around us – of all ages – will be invited to BCU to take part in Family Day that will include hands-on creative workshops, games and drop-in sessions. In addition, academics will bring their research stories to life, demonstrating its impact and the outcomes from REF2021. Book your place here.

Celebrating the best of graduate work from BCU’s Faculty of Arts, Design and Media, Inspired 2022 will take place across two weeks and will include private views and graduate shows. Come and see our students’ superb achievements for yourself. More details are coming soon.
BCU 2025 STRATEGY EVENT
Date: 14 June
Venue: Bradshaw Hall and STEAMhouse
An evening to mark what is being achieved in our ambitious and distinctive 2025 strategy, with presentations, music and entertainment with guest speakers and a VC address, followed by an informal reception at BCU’s new STEAMhouse building. Event will include invitations and a limited number of places for staff and students – details coming soon.
RBC SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA: END OF TERM CONCERT

INTO UNIVERSITY – 2ND ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Venue: Into University, Kingstanding centre
A celebration of the 2nd anniversary since the launch of a partnership between BCU and Into University, bringing higher education to schoolchildren in north Birmingham. This event invitation only due to the limited capacity of the venue.
BCU SUMMER STAFF PARTY

Venue: Hockley Social Club
Celebrating the achievements of BCU’s staff as we emerge from a pandemic and recognise their crucial role in achieving the ambitions set out within the 2025 Strategy. Tickets are available to staff here.
BCU CATWALK SHOW
Date: 29 June
Venue: The Mill, Digbeth
The catwalk will feature collections of high-end fashion produced by our Fashion Design students and graduates, much of which will have been showcased at the Graduate Fashion Week earlier in June. Event will include invitations and some places for staff and students – details coming soon.
BCU AT EDGBASTON
Venue: Warwickshire County Cricket Club
A celebration of the extension of the long-standing partnership between BCU & Warwickshire County Cricket Club, which supports the development of BCU students in a range of relevant work-based placements. This event is invitation only.
BCU Learning & Teaching Conference
Date: 2 July
BCU comes together to reflect and learn from innovative practice across the faculties and professional services, with presentations and workshops from staff at all levels. More details about how to book coming soon.
Conference-style event, featuring a celebration of BCU’s impact on, and support for, business. It will showcase academic expertise, innovative infrastructure including STEAMhouse, and panel discussions, covering topics from future skills needs, future innovation and roles of Universities within Enterprise. BCU HON DOC DINNER AND ALUMNI NETWORK LAUNCH
Celebrating and reconnecting with our hon docs from over the years, together with an event for our alumni network, enabling our graduates to connect with their peers, give back to today’s students, share experiences, celebrate successes and benefit from ongoing support and advice. Places are reserved for our graduates, as well as staff by invitation.
