The California Innocence Project

The California Innocence Project (CIP) is a California Western School of Law clinic which focuses upon considering claims of innocence and wrongful conviction of persons incarceration in state prison.

CHR Consultancy and Birmingham City University Law Students offer a case review service for petitions filed with the CIP. It is a student led project for case management services, review of case petitions and advise on the merits of innocence claims by people incarcerated in California prisons. The project builds upon the very successful BCU Law School Internship programme with CIP, organised by the LLB American Legal Practice program. For more information on the work of the California Innocence Project, see their website.
