Ian Fox-Williams is the Deputy Head of the School of Law with responsibility for International Development and Partnerships. Ian provides strategic leadership in the School for transnational education (TNE) as well as working with UK educational institutions to provide law programmes recognised and accredited by Birmingham City University. During his career so far, Ian has developed an international profile in lecturing on undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes overseas in countries such as Hong Kong and Singapore. Whilst at Birmingham City University, Ian has represented the School on visits to India, China, Singapore and continues to develop and enhance the global reach of the School of Law. In addition to leading internationalisation in the School Ian has significant experience of curriculum design and led on the validation of law programmes both in the UK and overseas.
Ian has been responsible for the developing widening participation agenda in the School at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Following his significant experience of designing law programmes in HE, Ian has been involved in national validation events on the suitability of proposed programmes by other universities designed for widening participation and to facilitate the study of international students in the UK.
