Mark is a Visiting Professor at Birmingham City University and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for England. His research interests are in healthcare workforce, ranging from safe staffing to workforce retention. He is co-applicant on the recently awarded NuRS project where BCU academics, in collaboration with NHS England and NHS Improvement and in partnership with 20 healthcare providers, are seeking to explore the contributory factors underpinning nurse retention and its impact on safety using ‘big data’ techniques.
Current Activity
- Mark is a co-applicant on the NuRS – Nurse Retention and Safety –programme funded by the Health Foundation.
