Allied Health Professions Day 14 October

14 October is Allied Health Professions' (AHP) Day. AHP Day is an opportunity for AHPs to come together and celebrate being part of the AHP family. It gives an opportunity to showcase the impact that AHPs make on the delivery of high quality care. Our staff and students in the School of Health Sciences celebrated Allied Health Professions Day by creating a special series of films showing how their professions contribute to patient care.

Pam's story features a patient who, while receiving treatment for a brain tumour, is found to have an infected foot which also needs attention. Hannah Abbott, Head of the School of Health Sciences, introduces the story. You can then follow Pam through a series of short films as she encounters professionals from Therapeutic Radiography, Paramedic Science, Operating Department Practice, Diagnostic Radiography, Physiotherapy, Dietetics and Speech and Language Therapy, who each support her and contribute to her care. The films demonstrate the variety of careers encompassed by Allied Health Professions, and also give an insight into the different roles.
