Our students get to study in the a significant regional centre for art, architecture and design education and as such, we are a major provider of graduate talent to the cultural and creative industries.

Here, a few of them share their stories about their time at university and the great things they have gone on to achieve after graduating.

Rhys1

Rhys Ellis - BA Fashion Design 

25 year-old Rhys, originally from Kings Norton, studied in Milan as part of his undergraduate study. That trip inspired his sensational Coffee Pod Dress, which was on show at Birmingham Selfridges in 2017.

Hannah Malein - BA Textile Design

After gaining a placement in the second year of the course with Global Color Research, Hannah went on to work for them following her degree as a Colour Trend Creative.  

She is now their Colour & Trend Consultant Manager and travels all over the world.


Eleanor Scott, Textile Design - BA (Hons)

Eleanor has set up her own knitwear design studio - Nor Clothing - and launched her first collection. She has now secured a contract with a top high-street fashion retailer to stock her range.
