This year the Fashion Retail, Buying and Merchandising Undergraduate of the Year Award was sponsored by Marks and Spencer and over 200 students first applied. Second year BA (Hons) Fashion Business and Promotion student Chloe Goodall was lucky enough to get down to the G R A N D  F I N A L S of just 10 students and we are very proud of her achievement.

The process involved an online application and an assessment centre to put the students through their paces, which included a presentation to Marks and Spencer on their Autograph collection. Chloe was shortlisted as a grand finalist and invited to the P R E S T I G I O U S  awards ceremony in Canary Wharf, London.

Chloe Goodall blog 1Speaking about her experience Chloe added:

Chloe impressed them so much that she has been rewarded with a two month placement with Marks and Spencer Merchandising Team.

“The whole process has taught me how it works when applying for roles in industry and what employers look for in candidates. Whilst I didn’t win the award overall, I have met some wonderful people along the way, most of which have asked me to keep in contact.

I’d encourage anyone who is slightly interested in buying or merchandising to apply for the award next year; you really don’t know where you might end up!"
