Primary and Early Years partnerships
Our BCU Hub Leads working directly with ITE Mentors. We have 9 BCU Hub Leads who currently oversee 16 regional Hubs to enhance effective communication with ITE Mentors/SLT in charge of ITT Placements. BCU Hub Leads work closely with Course Leads and the Primary Strategic Partnership Committee. We value the work ITE Mentors do to support training in their school and want to encourage those who are new to the role, to join one of our mentoring hubs.
The aims of BCU Hub Leads and ITE Mentors working together are:
- Have a clear overview of our partnership and action any initiatives that arise from Regional Hub meetings – this will feed into our Primary Strategic Partnership Committee
- Quality assurance – to ensure all systems and processes support the development of our Associate Teachers in schools
- Hub Leads and Course Teams will moderate examples of all practice and share quality assurance outcomes with the Primary Strategic Partnership Committee
- Support ITE Mentors – in preparation for the changes relating to the Market Review 2024
- Support New ITE Mentors – to be effective in their schools and liaise with the Education Partnerships Team around placements and use the networking process to learn from other ITE Mentors and Hub Leads
- Develop a ITE Mentor networking opportunity – capitalise on the expertise available in our Hubs
- ITE Mentors to support mentors (class teachers) to work effectively with University tutors to understand our BCU ITE Curriculum, use the subject specific prompts in lesson observation feedback and develop verbal and written targets.
