A day in the life of a trainee teacher

Want to know what it's really like to be an education student at Birmingham City University? Our student Chris shares his experience.

Chris' story

PGCE Courses

Post Compulsory Education and Training

Chris has always been passionate about sports since a young age. After completing his degree in Sports, Performance and Coaching, Christopher decided to study at Birmingham City University after being wowed by the facilities and opportunity to further his career and teach his passion to young people.

One of Chris’s favourite aspects of being on the course is the opportunity to go on placement, as he gets to put theory into practice and enhance his teaching skills, to give him the confidence to teach in the future. Chris is currently undertaking his placement at Solihull Sixth Form College, in the PE department.  He believes this has been very beneficial to developing his teaching skills and also seeing first-hand the responsibilities a teacher has.

Watch Chris's video diary as he takes you through his journey of being a P.G.C.E in Post Compulsory Training and Education student.
