Between 1788 and 1868 some 25,000 female convicts were transported over to Tasmania in horrific conditions. Many had stolen no more than a loaf of bread…
Banished gives voice to these long-forgotten stories as we embark upon a journey which is by turns appalling and deeply moving. Join us for a dark drama which explores the depths to which humanity can sink and the heights to which the spirit can rise.
Award-winning director, Daisy Evans and conductor, Paul Wingfield bring together a cross-faculty team of some 100 students on this startling project in the incredible surroundings of the Engine Rooms Space.
This production contains scenes of violence, sexual violence and suicide.
