Stravinksy Petrushka (1947 version)
RBC Symphony Orchestra take on Petrushka, one of the masterpieces Igor Stravinsky composed for Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballet Russes company. It was originally conceived as a piece more suited for the concert stage than the theatre, until the sketches were seized upon by Diaghilev, and it is hard to imagine a more descriptive and evocative piece of orchestral writing.
