Beethoven's very first published piece kicks off this concert of vibrant and eclectic works, performed by two superb visiting artists alongside Daniel Tong. Janáček's Capriccio is extremely rarely performed, but is a fabulous journey through the passionate and story-telling sides of its composer's personality, here led by distinguished pianist, Julian Jacobson. The first Piano Quintet by Louise Farrenc completes the programme, full of Romantic allure and melody.
