Romantic masterpieces form the programme for this concert, gradually increasing in size and featuring star performers from amongst RBC students, alongside members of the faculty. First, one of Brahms's intimate, late Viola Sonatas, before Schumann's exquisite variations for a wonderfully rich and unusual combination of instruments. The instrumentation for Dohnanyi's riotous Sextet is even more colourful, ending the evening in virtuosic fashion.
