Come to Royal Birmingham Conservatoire this Easter for the Mini Messiah to enjoy an evening of historically-informed selections from George Frideric Handel’s timeless masterpiece, Messiah.
The Messiah has a long history in the city of Birmingham, the piece having been played at the inaugural Birmingham Music Festival in 1768 and performed globally many times since. Originally composed in 1741, the English language oratorio is one of the most acclaimed choral works in the world. The concert will feature some of the best-known choruses, including And the Glory of the Lord, Hallelujah and Worthy is the Lamb.
The Mini Messiah has been devised by final year undergraduate soprano, Abigail Baylis, who will feature alongside a talented vocal consort of twelve singers and a Baroque orchestra to create a compelling performance in the Bradshaw Hall. The performance includes current and past Royal Birmingham Conservatoire students and will be conducted by RBC choral conductor, Isaac Boulter. Please join us on 20 March to enjoy this joyous performance of Handel’s most famous pieces of work.
