Maureen Brathwaite, a longstanding member of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Vocal Department, was born in London to Barbadian parents. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she won the Capital Radio Anna Instone Memorial Award and the Ian Fleming Award which allowed her to continue her vocal studies in Florence.

Maureen is joined by Alec Hone who studied piano with Beryl Chempin and organ with David Saint, before going to the Royal College of Music to train as a repetiteur in their Opera School.
