"You are not at liberty to avenge the pornography industry in this country. We have the censorship laws for that."

Follow Rowena's journey, from seeing her first porn magazine through to her attempt to help an unhappy prostitute and from awkward laughter to disgusted protest at female subjugation.

Sarah Daniels's 1983 play explores the links between pornography, misogyny and violence towards women.

Masterpieces won Daniels the London Theatre Critics Award for Most Promising Playwright. Extracts were also performed at the National Theatre in a one-off platform performance as one of their ‘100 Most Significant Plays of the 20th Century’.

This play will be streamed live from The Old Rep Theatre, Birmingham. Tickets are free, but you must book in advance.

Warning: This play contains graphic verbal accounts of sexual violence, intense scenes, scenes containing violent intent, explicit images and language which some audience members might find offensive.

This play also includes flashing lights.
