Rebecca Taylor is currently in her final year studying at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, set to graduate in the summer of 2023. She studies the oboe under Head of Woodwind, Jenni Phillips, and also takes Cor Anglais lessons with Anna Cooper, former Principal Cor Anglais with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Rebecca is currently increasing her focus towards the Cor Anglais and adores the many evocative solos in orchestral repertoire.

Rebecca was awarded the LeverHulme Scholarship in 2019. Highlights of her Conservatoire experience include masterclasses with Jonathan Kelly, Principal Oboe of Berlin Philharmonic, and Nicholas Daniel OBE, one of the world’s greatest oboe soloists.

Whilst she enjoys opportunities to play as a soloist, Rebecca is an ardent orchestral player, and has thrived in a number of local orchestras. These include Sinfonia of Birmingham, Kimichi Symphony Orchestra and The Midland Chamber Orchestra. She also plays with the CBSO Youth Orchestra, and RBC Symphony and Repertoire Orchestras.

In the coming year, Rebecca will be working on her final project, consisting of a concert designed to introduce wind and brass instruments to children aged 8-10. She is passionate about music education and will pursue a career in inspiring the next generation to engage in music.
