Alma Orr-Ewing is a current APD (Advanced Postgraduate Diploma) student at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC). Having just completed her Master's at RBC, where she studied viola with Louise Lansdown, Alma is looking forward to an exciting performing career. Before doing a Master’s in Performance, Alma studied Mathematics and Music at the University of Leeds.
In 2021, Alma made her Wigmore Hall debut performing Beethoven with the Hestia Quartet. She regularly performs with the Sekine Quartet for the Fever Candlelight Concert Series, who specialise in themed evenings such as Queen, Vivaldi and Hans Zimmer. Alma has played with various orchestras, including the Hallé Orchestra, the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Symphony Orchestra, the Ripieno Players and the Orchestra in the Shape of a Pear, as well as performing as soloist with the Taunton Sinfonietta.
