Saxophonist Jean Toussaint played in the last version of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, and came to Birmingham as a member of that group. He then settled in the UK and is a major creative force on the UK scene. He will be bringing his latest project to the Eastside Jazz Club as part of a major national tour. Toussaint's new album entitled Jean Toussaint: Songs for Sisters Brothers and others reflects on the turbulent years of the Covid-19 pandemic. The quartet is Jean Toussaint (saxophone), Jonathan Gee (piano), Mutale Chashi (bass) and Shane Forbes (drums).
