Painting of female figure playing violin against a night sky containing floating musical notes and black holes

Into the Quadrivium: the sound of gravitational waves

A collaboration project between PhD research fellows of University of Birmingham and musicians from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Into the Quadrivium features ground-breaking research surrounding black holes and gravitational waves, complemented by an immersive soundscape of baroque sonatas and new works written by composers studying at RBC. This installation explores the transformative relationship between art and science in a variety of multidisciplinary forms and hopes to bring awareness to their archaic compatibility, with a progressive twist.
