Bernstein Prelude, Fugue and Riffs

Take a rare chance to see a mass of percussion instruments and excellent performers playing wonderfully dramatic and colourful music. The stark contrast of Joseph Schwantner’s epic Percussion Concerto and Kurt Weill’s deliciously evocative music from The Threepenny Opera re flanked by two jazz influenced classics. Both commissioned by legendary band leader Woody Herman, Stravinsky's Ebony Concerto is our prelude, Bernstein’s Prelude, Fugue and Riffs; an arresting epilogue.
