This concert is the termly Liederabend of the Conservatoire’s vocal department. Thirty singers and nine pianists perform (mostly short) songs by the quintessentially Parisian composer Francis Poulenc (1899-1963) who wrote “Where Paris is concerned I am often moved to tears and to music”.

The event is organised and presented by Robin Bowman, who was for ten years teaching assistant to Pierre Bernac, the singer for whom Poulenc wrote more than half of his more than 150 songs
