Join us for a magical evening of classical and romantic repertoire featuring the fortepiano as well as its successor, the historical piano.

A select group of emerging performers from Birmingham Conservatoire presents an exciting programme comprising of music by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Field, Clementi, Schubert, the Schumanns and their contemporaries.

Students play solo repertoire and join forces with period string players and singers to form riveting ensembles presenting Lieder, duos and concerto movements.

A slightly longer than usual must-hear public concert showcasing the fortepiano in all its glory, highlighting the instrument’s clarity of tone with its myriad of colours and shades, extracting its authentic sounds with subtle nuance and lots of character and charm.
