BASCA Award Winning Composer and former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Trish Clowes brings her acclaimed cross-genre Emulsion music festival to Birmingham, hosted by BBC Radio 3 presenter Fiona Talkington.

This special edition of Emulsion will open with a set from the Hans Koller Quartet featuring John O’Gallagher, followed by a set from My Iris, Clowes’ new band – part of the launch tour of Clowes’ new album for Basho Records.

The evening’s finale will be a set from the Emulsion Sinfonietta performing existing Emulsion works (including Joe Cutler’s 2015 commission) and new works by Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian, Percy Pursglove, Hans Koller and Birmingham Conservatoire students.

The performances in the main theatre will be intertwined with pop-up solo and duo performances in the mac’s free spaces and a panel discussion.

This event is supported by Arts Council England.
