#BirminghamNewMusic: New Forms

New Forms is the final concert as part of #BirminghamNewMusic's 2021-22 season featuring four brand new commissions from composers at the Conservatoire. The composition department at the Conservatoire prides itself in developing artistic voices that provide new and exciting approaches both inside and outside the classical music tradition. New Forms captures this creative spirit with four brand new commissions reimagining the string quartet and the piano trio. Each of the new commissions considers how these traditional forms exists in contemporary art practice, how they can be developed, and whether tradition matters to contemporary composition.
