ARCO Fundraiser - British 20th Century String Chamber Music

Ikon welcomes musicians from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Arco project for an evening of 20th century British string chamber music. In the setting of The Aerodrome – An exhibition dedicated to the memory of Michael Stanley, performances include the rarely heard Gordon Jacob Suite for 8 violas, followed by an arrangement especially for this concert of Vaughan Williams’s Six Studies in English Folk Song and finishing with Williams’s atmospheric Household Music.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit Arco, a long distance learning project between the Conservatoire and Morris Isaacson Centre for Music in Soweto, South Africa.
