Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Fresher's Fair

The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Fresher’s Fair will be taking place between 11am-3pm on Monday 16th September in the Conservatoire music building (upper foyer).

New and returning students can come along to find out more about lots of industry-related retailers and organisations, who will be attending to share information and offers with students.

The following organisations will be attending (in alphabetical order):

Band of the Mercian Regiment – Based in Wolverhampton, the Band is made up of volunteer Reserve Musicians, including men and women from many varied backgrounds and civilian careers. The band undertake a huge variety of performances locally, nationally and internationally, including parades, concerts and charitable events.

Band of the West Midlands Fire Service – The Band of the West Midlands Fire Service is a Symphonic Wind Band with a wide and varied repertoire, providing music to suit all tastes and occasions. Band Members are a mix of amateur and semi-professional musicians from around the West Midlands.

BCU Library

BCU Students’ Union (BCUSU) – As a Birmingham City University student you are automatically a member of your Students’ Union and have access to the wide range of fantastic services and facilities that it offers.

BCU Education Development Service – Centre for Academic Success (CAS) – provide advice on a range of academic, technical and numerical topics through one to one tutorials, regular workshops and online resources.

BCU Education Development Service – Graduate+ is an awards programme which records a range of activities and events in addition to your degree.

Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG) – one of the world's foremost new music ensembles. RBC collaborated with BCMG on the NEXT programme

Birmingham Repertory Theatre – Local Birmingham theatre where some of our theatre productions are staged attend to tell you more about the upcoming season on stage.

Birmingham & West Midlands General Branch of EquityThe social and networking organisation for professional and student performers and creatives based in the Midlands region.

Book a Musician (RBC) – speak to a member of the team about opportunities for paid opportunities to perform at external events.

British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) – Charity providing medical advice to people working and studying in the performing arts.

Musicians’ UnionAn organisation comprising a community of over 31,000 musicians who work to protect members’ rights and campaign for a fairer music industry.

Orchestra of the Swan – an English professional chamber orchestra based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, and RBC’s current orchestra in residence.
