Cain Evans

Dr Evans is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science. He has been working in higher education since 1999 and at Birmingham City University since 2001. He has published articles on E-business, mobile computing and smart-care-space and been published in journals, conferences and edited books. More recently, he has been focusing on Open Big Data and Smart City.
Dr Evans has previously held the roles of Programme Lead for Computer Science and Information Systems, Master’s project coordinator and Course Director for Computer Science and numerous other roles. He is active in University life and has served on Senate and as University representative at various approval events.
He completed a Computer Science degree at Bristol University and his Ph.D. at Birmingham University.
After graduating he worked at EDS in various roles, including Systems Development and IT Project Management. He has lived and travelled widely in the Far East, teaching IT/Computer Science and IT consultancy.

His current research interests are e-business, Open Data, Digital Health and Smart Cities.
Postgraduate Supervision
