It’s my pleasure to welcome you onto BSc (Hons) Computer Games Technology.

The course you’re about to start is a very focussed programme, training you to develop into a games programmer. The skillset required for this is very transferrable, you will be acquiring abilities in web development, 3D modelling, visual effects, technical art, mobile technology as well as all the features of a talented software developer. These topics are all reliant on one another in the world of game development and you’ll use your knowledge in these areas to produce a professional suite of games for your portfolio during the duration of the course.

Here at BCU you’ll have access to a dedicated team of specialists to support you every step of the way. We want you to have a fulfilling, interesting and high-quality learning experience with us, and the course team have been working tirelessly to design a suite of content to provide you with exactly that.

During welcome week we'll introduce you to your new working environment and the staff who will support you. Additionally, there is a provision of a Virtual Desktop that can be accessed remotely for some tasks. However, some students have found it useful to have a PC or laptop to work from home in the past. The Civil Engineering course has been developed following the state-of-the-art in education, industry, and research. We cover a wide array of topics, in a multitude of formats, and we prepare you for a range of careers in civil engineering and beyond.
